NEFHA History
Men's hockey in the United States began here on the East Coast. The name of the association running hockey for men in the US was named Field Hockey Association of America (FHAA).
Full details of the formation of this association will be updated here soon. Once the west coast men began playing hockey it forced FHAA to be independent of the East Coast league. Thus the formation of North East Field Hockey Association (NEFHA). Foundation clubs included Greenwich, Rye, New York, Westchester, North Jersey, Merion Cricket Club, and Wilmington. As the league grew Lehigh, West Indies International, Zindabad, Islanders, Caribbee, National, Combermere Old Boys, Brooklyn Tigers, Wave, Outcast, and Tristate Falcons became members.
